Well it’s an early 5am start this Sunday morning… I’ve not done this for a while – September has become the surprise COVID-19 wedding month, and I couldn’t be happier to be creating wedding flower arrangements again.
This wedding was one of my new collaborations as trusted supplier; Wedding Florist with Shearsby Bath in Leicestershire that I have started this year. I have been excited to get my hands on this venue since I moved to a new house as it is now my local area wedding spot. And long may it continue.
Set in the heart of South Leicestershire’s idyllic countryside, a stone’s throw away from the historic and (my!) well-loved village of Shearsby, their charming and lavish rooms offer the couple and their guests a magical and unique experience that can only be dreamed of.
The brief from the couple was watermelon pink and lots of roses, hydrangeas and foliage. But the bride was happy with “anything” as on Wednesday (4 days before the big day) she’d had to move her day forwards by a week to get in with the 30-guest rule. Luckily, I knew what was in season and in stock a week early and worked to put that together with the original brief, taking into account timelines for flower prep and conditioning.
So, what does having watermelon pink in your pallet mean? The meaning of pink roses can stand for femininity, elegance, refinement and sweetness. But the pink rose can also have additional meanings depending on its shade. A deep or hot pink rose can convey gratitude, appreciation, recognition and is a great way to say, “thank you,” while a light or pale pink rose conveys grace, gentleness, joy and happiness.
At Shearsby Bath they have fabulous huge ceiling chandeliers. So, part of this wedding was a huge floral installation on them as centrepieces for the room. Also, I created a beautiful moon gate flower arrangement in the civil ceremony area for the wedding making this very special indeed.
The Orangery: Purpose built to take full advantage of the stunning countryside surroundings and rural view the sun-drenched space is Shearsby Bath’s jewel in the crown. The Orangery offers unique views of the beautiful surrounding countryside and is the perfect location to enjoy a drinks reception, wedding breakfast, intimate disco or wedding supper.
Congratulations to Louise and Stephen, I hope I helped make your wedding day very special. I wish you the best of luck for the future.
